Countdown to the Smart Cities and Sport Summit in Lausanne

In less than three months, the third edition of the Smart Cities & Sport Summit will be held in Lausanne. The conference, taking place from 10 to 12 October 2016, is organised for representatives of cities, regions and countries around the world interested in learning more about effective and smart strategies that connect sport and cities.

Whether the vision is to host another sporting event, to create new ways to develop a city with an active and healthy lifestyle or to unite different communities through sport, the conference will provide an important platform for exchange of ideas and experience among cities of all sizes. High-level speakers will include Pia Allerslev, Mayor of Children and Youth of the City of Copenhagen; Koen Breedveld, Professor in sport sociology at the Radboud University in Nijmegen; and Agis Tsouros, International Adviser on Health Policy and Strategy and former Director at the World Health Organisation. Daniel Brélaz, Mayor of Lausanne and President of the World Union of Olympic Cities will officially open the conference.
