CHUV - Lausanne University Hospital

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of five Swiss university hospitals. Through its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne, CHUV plays a key role in the areas of medical care, biomedical research and education. Several of its departments and Institutes have developed projects in direct linkage with sport activity and international sports organizations based in Lausanne.

The Sports Medicine Centre:  The purpose of this center is to enable full support of athletes, amateur or professional. Branded Swiss Olympic Medical Center, it is also for those wishing to start a sporting activity for health purposes. Sports Medicine Centre website

The Swiss Laboratory for Doping Analyses (LAD): it is the only WADA accredited anti-doping laboratory in Switzerland. Beside the anti-doping analytical services, the LAD customers can benefit from its extensive experience in the management and the development of testing methods of the blood matrix. As a highly reputable laboratory, LAD is a regular provider of services and know-how during major national and international sports events. LAD activities are not confined to laboratory services as mandated by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Other departments from the CHUV involved clinical research on exercise and sports activity: the departments of Physiology, of Endocrinology & Metabolism and of Cardiology together with the University Medical Polyclinic are all involved in research projects which include sport.
