The IF Forum 2024, held from 21 to 23 October at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, brought together over 425 leaders from International Federations (IFs) and sports organisations under the theme, “Ensuring Your IF is Match Fit and Future-Ready.“
Inaugurated by IOC Vice-President Nicole Hoevertsz, the event addressed critical issues such as anti-doping, athlete mental health, technology integration, and sustainability.
For ThinkSport, the forum provided a valuable platform to connect with industry leaders, strengthening relationships while gaining insight into key topics shaping the future of sport.
These included sessions on building a robust anti-doping system beyond 2024, addressing the challenges of leadership in the digital age, supporting athlete mental health, growing participation to tackle inactivity, and embracing the Olympic Esports Games. The opportunity to engage directly with such themes and with IF leaders reinforced ThinkSport’s commitment to supporting innovation and resilience across the sports sector. Attendees appreciated the collaborative environment, with SportAccord President Prof. Dr. Uğur Erdener describing the forum as a “catalyst for innovative ideas and meaningful collaborations.” The forum will return in 2025, continuing its mission to equip IFs with tools to navigate an evolving sports landscape.
