Innovation Spotlight – Introducing our new Partner: Equip

Learn more about their innovative initiatives and explore their exciting collaboration with ThinkSport.

Equip strongly believes that everyone should have access to sports and leisure activities, regardless of age, gender, location or abilities. With this in mind, their mission is to offer a simple, convenient, environmentally sustainable and fun way for all to be active, while breaking down barriers of ownership and access.

We caught up with the Equip team to learn more about their views on innovation and excitement of working with ThinkSport.

What specific areas of innovation is your organisation most enthusiastic about exploring in the future, and what drives this excitement?

Our vision is to transform the sports industry by making sport affordable, easy to play and available to all, anywhere, anytime. Our app and connected lockers are a step towards democratising physical activity, offering a simple and convenient solution for sporting equipment and facilities. We are also passionate about leveraging data to enhance the sporting experience and make our community of players more active and healthier.

In your perspective, what stands out as the key advantage of being part of ThinkSport and its ecosystem, and how do you envision this benefiting your organisation?

Being part of the ThinkSport ecosystem offers us a key advantage: connectivity. As innovators in the sports sector, access to a diverse network of stakeholders, ranging from sports federations to large corporations, is invaluable. It allows us not just to share our ideas but also to collaborate with potential partners, accelerate our development, and broaden our impact. We envision this collaboration benefiting our organisation by opening up new market opportunities and strengthening our visibility within the international sports community.

Can you identify the most influential idea currently under development or exploration that, in your opinion, has the potential to redefine the future?

We believe that the core strength of our innovation lies in our application’s ability to unlock lockers, but not only. Equip is on the verge of becoming the go-to app for those looking to engage in sports without the need for ownership. We are not just expanding its capabilities to make sports practice even more accessible but also working on new features to further motivate our users to stay active. This could manifest through new services of the app, which would allow players to invite friends to tournaments, earn rewards, access coaching videos, or view their stats. This approach has the potential to transform how people interact with sports and fitness, fostering a more connected and active community.
