A Legacy of Impact
This December, ThinkSport wrapped up the final topic of the Innovation Booster – Sport & Physical Activity powered by Innosuisse, marking the end of an incredible journey. We are proud to have been part of this transformative initiative, and as we close this chapter, we can’t help but think back on how far the project has come and all that we have learned along the way. The final Booster, focused on Swiss Volunteers, highlighted the vital role they play in making sports events successful—a fitting conclusion to an impactful programme.
Over four years, the Innovation Booster tackled 17 diverse themes and hosted 55 workshops, ideation sessions, and follow-up discussions. More than 600 participants engaged with the programme, and their feedback speaks volumes: an impressive satisfaction rate of 88% underscores the success of this initiative. These numbers reflect the collective effort, creativity, and enthusiasm that have defined this journey.
The Innovation Booster has become synonymous with creativity and collaboration. It tackled key challenges such as sustainability, technological innovation, diversity, and community engagement. The programme spurred projects that not only showcased the potential of sports to drive societal change but also paved the way for new approaches in the industry. From using AI to boost athletic performance to creating inclusive programmes for underrepresented groups, the Booster’s work has consistently pushed boundaries.
For its last iteration, the focus shifted to volunteerism, emphasising the significance of Swiss Volunteers. These dedicated individuals form the backbone of countless sports events, bringing passion and commitment that often goes unnoticed. The Booster explored strategies to sustain and grow these networks, ensuring the continued vibrancy of the sports ecosystem.
The success of the Innovation Booster would not have been possible without the dedicated leadership of Célia Tholomier, whose dedication and vision were invaluable. Her efforts spearheaded the programme, ensuring its impact resonated across all projects and participants.
Although this chapter is closing, the Innovation Booster’s legacy will live on. ThinkSport is committed to building on the insights and connections gained through this initiative. Future efforts will continue to foster collaboration among stakeholders, support groundbreaking ideas, and champion sustainability. By empowering volunteers and promoting innovation, ThinkSport aims to shape the future of sports.
This journey would not have been possible without the unwavering support of partners, participants, and stakeholders. From the Innovation Booster Board, Innosuisse support, our two amazing Innosuisse coaches, all the others Innovation Boosters to everyone who brought energy, expertise, and ideas to the table—we extend our deepest gratitude.
As this programme ends, we’re reminded that innovation is not a destination but a journey. At ThinkSport, we look forward to exploring new horizons and pushing the limits of what’s possible. The future of sports is bright, and together, we will continue to make a difference.
